In Honor of That Time of the Year

Every year during the holidays, Puck eats something he shouldn't eat. Yesterday he opened a present (that wasn't for him) that turned out to be a molded birdseed cake. He ate most of it and suffered all night long. The birds are sure enjoying the yard this morning!

Last year he ate chocolate and spicy peanuts,
the year before, liqueur-filled chocolates,
the year before, a loaf of bread and a stick of butter...
and on and on, for twelve years.
